Our son, joined the Resident Program at Pacific Hills Treatment Center on
March 12 this year. When he came in he was seriously involved in drug addiction,
and was in a state of helplessness and depression due to it.
This drug addiction program has been truly excellent. It addressed him as a
whole person, physically, mentally and spiritually. He was kept on wholesome
foods and activities, and soon was able to overcome the immediate physical
urges. In addition to this, he also had access to a caring medical team to
address any drug addiction and physical problems. His mental needs were
addressed by access to a skilled psychologist. They were also addressed through
participation in some very excellent seminars, a couple of which we attended.
Several aspects of drug addiction were addressed in these seminars, including
medical aspects, psychological effects, peer activities that draw one into drug
addiction and so on. Most importantly, his spiritual needs were addressed
through access to counselors who themselves depended on God. They taught him a
dependence on God for overcoming his addiction, rather than a dependence on
himself.
Pacific Hills has given us our son back. Today he is walking in humble
dependence on God. His confidence is back that, with God's help, he can break
the hold that drug addiction and alcohol addiction had over him. He is looking
forward to life, and its challenges.
We too have a new relationship with him as a result of this program, and we all
have the tools to help him break this cycle of drug addiction and depression. We
all have a renewed dependence on God for His help and mercy in taking us through
this and anything else.
Our son liked the Resident Program very much. He became very close with his case
manager Mr. Stephen and the group of men he stayed with. He therefore decided to
continue with the Transitional Program to gain additional strength. He is now
refreshed and renewed and ready to come home.
We wanted to express our gratitude to Pacific Hills for having given our son his
life back, and having given us our son back. We pray that you will be able to
