Hello everyone – sober greetings from Omaha, Nebraska. I just wanted to give you all a quick update on what's been happening since I left the beautiful house in Boerne…I'm 100 days sober today and I've made it to a meeting just about everyday since arriving home. I've been blessed to find a great sponsor that I'm working the steps with. Her name is Jen and she has 4 years of sobriety. She is 27 and is someone that I can really relate to. She's especially good at keeping me rigorously honest with myself and my Higher Power at all times – whether I like it or not!!! I have said goodbye completely to all of my old using buddies so my social circle is pretty small right now. But I'm making good friends in the program every day. I'm in outpatient treatment twice a week, see a therapist once a week, and continue to manage my meds with a psychiatrist. Sobriety and relapse prevention is a lot of work and not always fun! But the payoff so far has been incredible. I asked to speak at a speaker meeting this past week which of course was a great experience for me – that I could share with others the ways that my time at Covenant Hills changed/saved my life. I think about each of you often and what you did for me during those 35 days. I don't know what else to say except thank you. And I will let you know when I get my 6 month chip!! Keep up the good work down there in Texas, one by one you save the lives of the women who stay there and want the miracle.
Very
Sincerely, Melissa M
p.s. Tana – thanks so much for mailing me the box of stuff I couldn't fit into my luggage – I appreciate it!

The staff we
have here is incredible. We have people here who have been
here since the beginning and that is very unusual in this line of
business. Its a very tumultuoustype of business
but we have very committed clinicians and counselors that believe in
what we are doing. They understand that we are unique here."
