Do you suspect someone in your life is an alcoholic? Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Does your loved one use alcohol to handle stress or escape from their problems?
  2. Have they unsuccessfully tried to cut down or quit using alcohol?
  3. Have his/her friends and family expressed concern about his/her usage?
  4. Does your loved one do things under the influence that they would not normally do?
  5. Have they been in trouble with the law or have they been arrested?

If you answered "yes" to most of these questions, the more likely a problem exists and your loved one probably needs an alcohol treatment program like Pacific Hills.

Pacific Hills' alcohol treatment program treats adults 18 and over; our alcohol treatment program's intake counselors will assess the client prior to admission for possible medical detoxification. Should this detox be necessary, our alcohol treatment program includes assistance with a qualified nearby detox facility. Alcohol withdrawal is very serious and if your loved one has been drinking heavily for some time, they can develop alcohol withdrawal symptoms when they stop, and these symptoms can be severe.

Once the client leaves detox, they admit to Pacific Hills' alcohol treatment program.

The alcohol treatment programs at Pacific Hills treat co-occurring disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, etc. and the staff who works with the clients of our alcohol treatment program are faced with the complicated task of assessing the client's psychiatric disorders because alcoholism can be caused by or is perhaps a result of psychiatric problems. Gender and family history are taken into account. Pacific Hills' alcohol treatment program includes the services of a consulting psychiatrist who initially evaluates clients with signs of co-occurring disorders and subsequently treats them throughout their treatment. As the clients in our alcohol treatment program begin their abstinence, they are monitored and the staff continuously revises their individual treatment plans as necessary.

Clients at Pacific Hills' alcohol treatment program learn that Alcoholics Anonymous plays a complementary role to our alcohol treatment program. Clients attend meetings and learn how to connect with a temporary sponsor while here, and are strongly encouraged to seek a sponsor when the client returns home. The clients also begin working the 12 Steps while in our alcohol treatment program and with the help of their sponsor at home, can work through all 12 Steps. This discipline is important for the newly abstinent to learn how to live a life of sobriety.

"I'd like to tell anyone out there that really is looking for hope, to let them know that there is hope at Pacific Hills.  We saw our daughter go through such a difficult time in her life and now I can look at her and I can see my wonderful, beautiful daughter back once again.”
