At Pacific Hills, our Christ-centered 12-step approach
to recovery does not constitute a "Christian track" but sets forth an
integrated biblical framework that underlies all we do as a treatment
center. The Old and New Testament scriptures provide the guidelines
used in all of our professional counseling, rehabilitation and
treatment programs.

The 12 Steps, as applied by Alcoholics Anonymous, have
been drawn from the heart of the scriptures (The 12 Steps and
Their Spiritual Foundation). Our Christian 12-Step Program is an
integration and expansion of these foundational truths from a
Christian perspective, specifically as they relate to the chemically
addicted and emotionally wounded person.
For those electing our Christian 12-Step program, past misconceptions
about God are often replaced by a loving, grace-based relationship
with their "higher power", Jesus Christ. By working and applying these
Biblical principles, minds become open and spirits become liberated. God then begins "to do for us what we could not do for ourselves"*. Those suffering have the opportunity to then become free from
addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom gives
way to peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal
relationship with God and others.
Our professional staff consists
of Christian men and women, including several credentialed and ordained
pastors who themselves are in long-term recovery. Each brings their
own experience and training which is complemented by our Celebrate
Recovery curriculum.
Celebrate Recovery
The Celebrate Recovery curriculum was developed by the well-known
Saddleback Church pastored by Rick Warren, author of The
Purpose Driven Life. The program grew out of concern for the growing
problem of compulsive behaviors and addictions, both inside and
outside the church community. Saddleback began opening their doors to
addicts and alcoholics fourteen years ago, and now Celebrate Recovery
represents an international Christ-centered army of recovering people
meeting in over 3,600 groups each week in the U.S. alone.
Using The Life Recovery Bible and Celebrate Recovery Participant Guides, our staff-facilitated sessions include step
studies, interactive workshops and individual counseling. Clients are
encouraged to work the steps with outside temporary sponsors who are
available at our outside evening 12-step meetings.
Clients are provided transportation to Celebrate Recovery meetings. When discharged, clients are
encouraged to find Celebrate Recovery meetings in their area when
returning home.

Even though our
daughter did choose the traditional program, they still are able to
speak about God and how important it is to have someone other than
yourself that can control your life and in this case, help you with
your addiction.
