Kris,
a father writes... This
Christian addiction program has been truly excellent. It addressed our son as a whole person, physically,
mentally and spiritually. Most importantly, his spiritual needs were
addressed through access to counselors who themselves depended on
God. They taught him a dependence on God for overcoming his
addiction, rather than a dependence on himself. Pacific Hills has given us our son
back. Today he is walking in humble dependence on God. His
confidence is back that, with God's help, he can break the hold that
drug addiction and alcohol addiction had over him. He is looking
forward to life, and its challenges.
We at Pacific Hills Christian Treatment Centers believe that Scripture is authoritative and
complete, as stated in Timothy 3:16-17. Scripture contains all the
principles necessary for life in Christ. The Scriptures provide the
guidelines used in our professional counseling and treatment process.
The Christian Treatment foundation for our counseling and treatment is love and compassion. Reverence for each person's worth
and dignity is maintained, and the goal is to renew peace and hope. Our Christian Treatment professional staff integrates psychiatric, psychological
and medical resources, using the Bible as the final authority. Counseling and treatment are based on a firm Christian foundation as
well as sound medical and psychological principles - a balanced and
thoroughly biblical approach.
The Bible points to the importance of counseling (Rom. 13:14, Prov. 24:6, etc.). It does not take medical or psychological training
to help many people; yet, in certain problem cases, this professional
help is important. When the reality of the need for help is denied, it
can make it impossible for a person to recover from such difficulties
as alcohol and drug addiction.

The spiritual part of the program and of recovery, to
me, is the critical piece. Anybody can study the book and anybody
can talk the talk; anybody can go to meetings. So I think for
myself, I had done all of that. What I missed was grabbing hold of
the spiritual component and putting it inside my soul.
