Pacific Hills Treatment Center serves as both a drug rehab center and an alcohol rehab center. Some clients admit with addictions to both drugs and alcohol, and Pacific Hills' drug and alcohol rehab center can treat those individuals. In addition, all clients are medically evaluated at admission into our alcohol and drug rehab center and a psychological assessment is also performed for the presence of co-occurring disorders. This includes multiple personality disorder, bipolar disorder, extreme social anxiety, etc. which our drug and alcohol rehab center can treat with the help of our consulting psychiatrist, who sees the afflicted clients as needed. Men and women are treated in separate facilities at Pacific Hills' drug and alcohol rehab center based on the findings of clinical research that the progression to use drugs and alcohol is different for each gender. Women are often discouraged to admit to a drug and alcohol rehab center due to guilt and shame, while men do not experience this social stigma. Also, women exhibit higher levels of depression than men, which is why our alcohol and drug rehab center teaches women how to build self esteem and identify and improve their strengths rather than their weaknesses. Such self-help groups can complement and extend the effects of professional treatment.
