When searching for a drug treatment program, one will discover there are several types available today; Residential Inpatient, Day treatment, and Intensive Outpatient treatment are common types of drug treatment programs.

Admission into Pacific Hills' drug treatment program usually starts with a phone call from the addicted person's family member or friend. Family and friends can play critical roles in motivating individuals with drug problems to enter and stay in a drug treatment program. Involvement of a family member in an individual's drug treatment program can strengthen and extend the benefits of the program.

In addition to stopping drug use, the goal of Pacific Hills' drug treatment program is to return the individual to productive functioning in the family, workplace and community. Measures of effectiveness typically include levels of criminal behavior, family functioning, employability, and medical condition.

Once the client has been admitted into Pacific Hills' drug treatment program, the clinical staff will perform both a medical examination and a psychological-social assessment to evaluate the client. The psychological assessment is done to establish whether there are psychiatric or emotional disorders present.

These co-occurring disorders can affect the client's treatment unless they are treated. Our drug treatment program at Pacific Hills includes assessment and treatment of co-occurring disorders and, if necessary, the client will meet weekly (or as needed) with a consulting psychiatrist for psychiatric evaluation and appropriate treatment.

During the client's tenure at the Residential Inpatient phase of our drug treatment center, they will attend both group and individual therapy, lectures, relapse prevention workshops, Big Book study, Alcoholics Anonymous 12 Step meetings, exercise sessions, family counseling, etc. Each client is assigned a case manager who helps the client plan his strategy for long-term recovery after discharging from Pacific Hills' drug treatment center. If deemed necessary, the client can continue for an additional four weeks in our Transitional care drug treatment program. This program allows the client to continue in our drug treatment program in a semi-structured environment where half-day courses continue to educate and support the client in his new found recovery.

Pacific Hills offers another option for those seeking a drug treatment program, Day treatment. This option is normally attended by local area residents who already are living in a drug-free environment. The Day treatment clients enroll for a four to six week cycle and are provided the same curriculum as in our Residential Inpatient drug treatment program.

Another option for clients is to attend Pacific Hills' Intensive Outpatient drug treatment program. Most clients who choose this type of treatment do not require close supervision. Clients who enroll in this drug treatment program receive a minimum of 12 hours of group and individual instruction per week as well and attend workshops.

Pacific Hills' drug treatment program will also assist families with professional interventions and medical detoxification.

"We care about the people who come in here.  We all work together to get the person on the right path.”
"When they come into the program, they start working the 12 steps and start hearing that there is hope and that they can develop this relationship with God, as they understand him.  It is a great thing.  And they start getting a sparkle in their eye they didn't have before.  We believe that if someone is truly looking for long-term sobriety that they can find it here.  Even those people who have been through a dozen other treatment centers before.”
