Addiction and Soul Sickness

Individuals addicted to alcohol or drugs experience a life that is thrown off-balance by addiction. Their families are torn apart. Their bodies grow sick. They often find themselves unable to perform at work or school. Social contacts may dwindle to only those who will abuse alcohol or drugs with them. Finally, they become more and more isolated and disconnected from their loved ones and the world around them.

But, even more common and pervasive than any of these is that the alcoholic/addict becomes alienated from God. The founders of Alcoholics Anonymous recognized this fact and built the 12-Step program--a program that has changed the lives of millions of individuals around the world--upon clear spiritual principles.

With a conviction that true recovery from our diseases can only come as a result of a "spiritual awakening", we offer two distinct, yet overlapping programs. The Christian 12-Step Program offers a non-denominational, Christ-centered, biblical approach to recovery, while the Traditional 12-Step Program presents recovery based on God as the individual may understand Him, as presented in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. The goal of both programs is not to instill doctrine, but to affirm dynamic faith in an all-powerful God.

Clients may choose the Christian or Traditional Program, whichever is most comfortable for them and may change programs at any time during their treatment. Groups that address the medical or physical basis of addiction are blended, while those groups dealing with life-skills, spiritual skills and 12-Step recovery are separated.
